Free Tibet

I have been watching the traumas in Tibet , and I shake my head in sorrow.A small country of peaceful people that just wish to live in peace in their own country, with their own customs. Tibet is a spiritual journey, and needs to be left in peace. Free Tibet. I am reminded of the words by His Holiness the Dalai Lama:

Violence is Self Perpetuating.

If you succeed through violence at the expense of others´rights and welfare, you have not solved the problem, but only created the seeds for another. (H.H.Dalai Lama-The Little Book of Wisdom)

Perhaps we should all offer 5minutes of prayer for a solution in Tibet

Winds of Time

What do the winds of time bring us, for many we think of the passing from child to adult and eventually old age. The loss of loved ones as they pass on to another life, the joy of being young and the difficulties that may befall us if we become old and frail. The fading beauty and the inability to embrace life. It sounds daunting, if we allow it to be. We cannot prevent the loss of loved ones through age or terminal illness, we can and must grieve and then we must remember all the wonderful memories we hold of that person, remembering that their life was not in vain and they have now passed on to a new life, one of which at this moment we cannot understand. The passing of child to adult to old age, is a transistion of love, life, experiences, learnings, happiness and of course sadness, and many other things. The joy of being young, and the fear of becoming old and frail, is a natural fear that we will cope with as is necessary at that moment. For many the winds of time reverse this, the fear of being young, the fear of life and the need to be older to escape the traumas of childhood.

Fading beauty and the inability to embrace life, is purely a matter of attitude, for which we are responsible. Beauty never fades because true beauty lies within us, it is not a visual thing but a light that flickers silently within us, for all of our days...some have brighter lights than others.

We and only we, are responsible for our own "winds of time".
