´Sweet Dreams

We may find ourselves running down corridors, jumping out of windows, flying or in a beautiful garden. These are some of the images that come from the unconscious whilst we dream, and although we think we dream for hours, we actually only dream for a few minutes. Your dreams are your unconscious sorting out the problems of the day or including events or people you may have recently spoken about. I always remember my dreams in vivid detail, sometimes strange and surrealist but when I analyse them I have learnt to identify why I d dreamt of this or that thing. I´ve kept a dream diary for many years, scribbling rough illustrations of the prominent things´, and have sometimes used them as ideas for paintings, Artists throughout the centuries
have transferred their dreams onto canvas.
I hear people say they never dream, but they believe this because they don´t remember them. Allow yourself to enter the world of dreams, try to remember them, attempt to analyse why you dreamt of this person or that thing. There are of course dream dictionaries but these can offer the basic meaning of the symbolism of items in the dream, dream images are personal and to each they have a personal meaning.
There are many people whose dreams are premonitions of a forthcoming event, these people have a heightened perception and intuition, being open to such outer influences can be valuable, used correctly, reoccurring dreams can be a simple message trying to get through to you or something more important, many people have re occuring dreams and here is where it is important to note the main points that repeat, I knew an elderly lady that for weeks kept dreaming she was in a garden full of country flowers and she was so happy, sadly she died, but she was 84years old and her passion had been the country gardens of her youth, for me this was not a premonition but her wish maybe to be where she was happiest. We should not hold these images and thoughts from our unconscious in fear, dreams are a necessary release of all things stored in our minds. Try keeping a dream diary by your bed, and if you wake during a dream, write some key words to remind you the next day of what you were dreaming. Without dreaming I believe our brains would explode, allow your brain to sort through the memories ,connecting one thing with the other, look at it like an overflowing filing cabinet thats being put in order. Give attention to your dreams. You may be surprised.
