What is it that we consider to be most important...Material or spiritual progress?
Materialism creates greed and the need for more money, whilst spiritual progress teaches us to respect and value what we have and who we are.
Maybe there are some who believe they can balance the two, whilst other follow just one path.
Spiritual progress can be one of the richest things you can obtain. When we join the stars in the sky we cannot take our belongings with us, only the seeds of our spirituality.

I guess when you're on the right path spiritual progress comes along with the other progress? Not always though. There are some smug people around.
Then again your understanding can be sharpened when you're suffering.
This I believe to be true, but those that choose another path will never experience spiritual progress. I know 2 people one who always talks about how spiritual he is, and lives his life completely opposite. The other probably doesn´t even realise how spiritual he is, he continues to follow his path giving to others and caring for others is natural to him. To speak with him is such a valuable thing. He has suffered but never complained, but gains a greater understanding of the cause of his suffering. All of us are different, thankyou for your comment fjl
